Ah …. love this haiku! I’m reminded of our tent-camping days when our children were young. Many a time we broke camp and packed up in the rain. 🙂 Always made for much quicker packing, that’s for sure! 🙂
🙂
What a wonderful thought – a friendly creek! Now I want to know what you loaded in the car and where you were going!
loaded our flippers and water-wings and headed for the boathouse..
Sounds like fun!
A creek, no longer friendly… I have never experienced flooding…
stick around. more floodng to come, in unusual places.
Ah, I love the contrast between the friendly creek and the need to get out fast! So much packed into 3 short lines.
🙂
That friendly creek must be dangerous during an overflow.
you can step on a rake in the backyard.
Live/camp near water at your own risk these days. You say a lot in just a few words.
🙂
We had flooding in May. Still dealing with the after-effects in some places. It isn’t a pretty thing – all that brown, churning water. I’m glad you thought to speak to this side of rain.
Oh dear! Sounds as if you’re heading for higher land. Luck be with yoU!
I love reading and writing haiku … yours is perfect. I have had to flee for higher ground a few times in my life.
